Infrared 101: Maximize your Proof of Liquidity rewards

If you're reading this, you might be new to Infrared. That’s perfectly fine—this post is for you. Put simply: Infrared is designed to make using @berachain and Proof of Liquidity (PoL) simple and rewarding, whether you're a user or a protocol.

Berachain basics

Before we start, we're going to assume you're somewhat familiar with Berachain and how it works. If not, some of the information below may be new or missing context, but Infrared still simplifies things quite a bit.You don't need to be a Berachain expert to use Infrared. In fact, that's why we built Infrared to begin with.

Infrared basics

Infrared simplifies participation in Proof of Liquidity (PoL) by acting as the infrastructure that connects users, protocols, and liquidity providers. We like to say that we give users access to Proof of Liquidity in one click.At a high level, Infrared provides liquid staking for two of Berachain’s native tokens: BGT and BERA.

iBGT

iBGT is our liquid version of BGT, Berachain’s governance token. You can earn iBGT by staking liquidity in our PoL vaults, then stake iBGT to earn rewards from the underlying BGT or keep it liquid to use across DeFi. BGT on its own is not liquid, so many users choose to farm iBGT instead.

iBERA

iBERA is a liquid version of staked BERA, Berachain’s native token. It earns staking rewards while remaining usable for trading, lending, and borrowing. Many users don’t have the bandwidth to run validator infrastructure or the capital to activate a validator. iBERA solves this problem by letting you stake whatever BERA you do have to earn rewards.

Infrared supports Berachain by helping run the underlying node infrastructure while making the rewards accessible to users. This ensures the network remains secure, providing the foundation needed for sustained growth, while benefiting users and builders.
